What is Education and Livelihood Improvement of Children in Rural Areas?
The project titled “Education and Livelihood Improvement of Children in Rural Areas” is the first project for SSA and it is the last project left by Ms. Ky Samphy, the Executive Director and founder of the association which she put all of her efforts to study situations of people in communities (in Sotra Nikum and Puok districts), and collect key information from Siem Reap province in the purpose of producing this project.
When the this project was finalized, Ms. Ky Samphy and her co-workers decided to submit it to Fondazione Apsara Onlus, situated in Italy, on September 9, 2020.
Few months later, the Fondazione Apsara Onlus replied in a positive way and the project activities were launched from October 1, 2020 through September 31, 2021.
What is the purpose of this project?
This project was designed to improve the study of young children in preschools and primary schools in two poor target areas of Siem Reap province, Sotra Nikum and Puok districts through the support on class reparation, pedagogic materials, hygiene materials and setting up playground for children.
In addition, the project also provides financial package to the poorest families with under-14 year old children to start their small-scale business based on their skill for earning incomes for families and support children’s schooling.
